St. Charles (Illinois) Review, Oct. 10, 1879 In a long story about the now vanished town of Lodi (15 miles west of Geneva, Illinois, which I think is now Maple Park): Lodi has a population of about six hundred. The Board of Trustees consists of the following gentlemen: Levi Atkins, president; Abner Curry, Horace Ottaway, Ira B. Hall, Wm. Blackman and Mr. Hackett - and their administration seems to give very general satisfaction. The sale of liquor is not permitted, at least no license is issued and good order and thrift prevail.-Beacon (Aurora) ------ This news item is posted as a courtesy.
