I am searching for verification of the father of Thomas Chambers b.abt 1765 Guildford Co NC (the part that became Rockingham and Caswell), and died July 1823 Allen Co KY. Thomas' mother was the widow Eleanor Fulkerson, who left a will 1801 Guildford Co NC. Thomas had 2 full siblings Sarah (who married a Stuart), and Eleanor who married William Mount. His step-sibling were Frederick Fulkerson, Mary (probably never married as there are many deed transactions in her name), and Abraham. Thomas's father is presumed to be William, and his father a William, per deeds along Lick Fork on Hogan's Creek in located in current day Rockinghman Co NC. Names's mentioned as Thomas' neighbors on a frequent basis are: Paul Harrelson, William Mount, Hugh Barnet, Timothy Tilsworth or Titsworth. There are 20 years of records missing in Rockingham Co NC Courthouse. In looking online, several people have posted the mother of Paul Harrelson as Mary Chambers, but I can find no records on any website to verify that information. IF that is correct, Mary could possibly be a sister to William, and will provide a lead to Thomas' grandparents. I belive Thomas' father or grandfather was the William Chambers who received +500 acres from Lord Granville in 1750. When Thomas sold land to migrate to KY, he sold more land than records show he acquired, and the difference it the same amount of land in Granville's Grant - unfortunately, the Granville Grant does not mention Lick Fork or Hogan's Creek, but does mention Storie's Creek that runs into Hogan's creek - therefore my conculsion is mere speculation. Does anyone know who Paul Harrelson of Caswell Co NC prior of 1790, married? What waterway did Paul Harrelson's land adjoin? Ciuld he have been an uncle or cousin of my Thomas Chambers?
