Any information on the Blackburn Higdon families would be greatly appreciated. I'm still trying to get past a pesky but everpresent brick wall on my g.grandfather, James Blackburn Higdon, b. 1863 in Kentucky, fa., d. Jan 8, 1905 in Fannin County, Texas; his father was Decatur Higdon; his mo. was Martha Henderson. Evidence does have James Blackburn Higdon in Tennessee when he married my g.grandmother, Margaret Carmichael Girdley (Girdler), b. 11 Par 1858, Marion County,Tennessee (Whiteside), and d. 1 Jun 1901, Seagoville, Tx. I THINK James Blackburn stayed with uncle, Blackburn Higdon, for a brief period of time after Decatur Higdon died. This information was obtained from a family bible and I'm trying desparately to fill in the hole and confirm the Bible information. Any help whatsoever would be so very much appreciated.
