still hoping to find a connection to my Higdons. My aunt was named Ernestine Higdon Jernigan. B. abt. 1902 d. abt 1980's in Al. I believe Higdon has to be some kind of family name as I have been told that most middle names from years ago were from family names. My mother was named Pauline Hampton Jernigan. b. 1909 in Fl d. 1973 in Al.These two names are unusual for middle names so I believe we are somehow related to these two family names. My grandmother was named Ella Mccall Malone(adopted name) Jernigan. All were from Santa Rosa County Fl and Al area. Thanks Jenny
