Just received my first bit of good news and info. My father in law is Thomas Ray Hollenbeck of Speedway,IN. His father was Ray Hollenbeck of Lexington, Scott Co.IN. Ray moved to Indpls, IN at the age of 16-17 years old as both his parents died within a year of each other cir 1916. Ray was raised after this by his sister Hazel Hollenbeck Flemming of Indpls, IN. Ray and Hazels's parents were Thomas H. Hollenbeck and Anna Murray Hollenbeck of Scott Co. IN. Thomas H. Hollenbeck was born Sept. 13 1857 in Scott Co IN. Thomas and Anna had 7 children. all born in Scott Co. 1)Jesse Hollenbeck (moved to Neb). 2) Charles Hollenbeck, 3) James D. Hollenbeck (moved to Anderson IN), 4) Eva Maude Hollenbeck, 5) Hazel G Hollenbeck Flemming, 6)Forrest Lee Hollenbeck (moved to Elliotsville, IN) and finally Ray Hollenbeck (moved to Marion Co IN). Not too bad for my first 24 hours of hunting for ancestors! I have seen several referrences to the Hollenbecks' of Scott Co IN and it appears that I will have some connection to most if not all by the time it is said and done. More good news is that I think due to many others folks work, thoes who have done a good deal of the info gathering, it may to be pretty easy to trace back several gerations to NY and utimately Europe for more geneology. This line of Hollenbeck's seem to be out of Jacob Hollenbeck of Green Co. NY. More on that to come. Dr. Jim
