Photo currently < http://www.johnsonfuneralhome.org/jfhObitSimple.dna?id=627&preview=true > Mattie Sue Gray Horton, 93, Church Hill, Hawkins Co TN, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at her daughter’s residence following a brief illness. She was a member of McPheeters Bend Baptist Church, and known as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She loved her life and everyone she met, which no one was a stranger. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas and Della Ann Gray; her first husband, James Arthur Arnold; and second husband, Robert L. Horton; brothers, Elbert, Eckel, Howard, Robert, and J. T. Gray; sisters, Beulah Berrigan and Edna Smith; son, Billy Arnold; daughter, Minnie Kay Horton; granddaughter, Christi Birchfield; great grandson, James Bradley Arnold; and step grandson, Greg Conant. She is survived by her sons, James Arnold and his wife, Clara of McAlester, OK, Roy Arnold and his wife, Marilyn of Alderson, OK, John Arnold and his wife, Tonya of Las Vegas, NEV; daughters, Ann Conant and her husband, Clarence of Surgoinsville, TN, Connie Hilton and her husband, Gary of Kingsport, TN; sister, Nancy Ann Hicks of Church Hill, TN; grandchildren, Johnna Arnold, Kim Jimenez, Tammy Arnold, Todd Ross, Chuck Conant, Heather Birchfield, Wendy Garrow, Betty Bowling, James Arnold, Jr., Fayetta Sue Campbell, Denise Rosson, Adam Arnold, and Jimmy Arnold; twenty great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the home of her daughter, 981 Main Street, Surgoinsville, TN. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Larry Parrott and Rev. Mark Roberts officiating. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday following the funeral service at McPheeters Bend Cemetery, Hawkins Co TN.
