Sheri, I am not sure I will be of much help. You may want to obtain the census records for Niagara County, NY for 1850. There was a Parley Houpt living there then. Prior to that you may want to investigate the Houpt clan of Dryden, Tompkins County, NY. Parley Houpt lived in Somerset Twp., Niagara County, NY - see census page 366 Ray Haupt
