My gggranfather was Thomas R. Smith of Williamson Co. IL. His father was Joseph Smith. There are some hits for this group of smiths on www.rootsweb.com. I know that Thomas R. had a son Caleb Lafayette (Fate) Smith and a daughter Sarah Elisabeth Smith who married Green Thomas Smith (my ggrandfather).
