First, thanks for such a quick effort to help!

In 1900, Bessie Wagner is living at home with her parents in Paducah, KY. William is living at home with his parents in Montgomery Co., TN.

According to all family written documentation through the years and verbal accounts, they were married in April 1906 in Cairo, IL. Bessie always told the tale that they lived in Paducah, but traveled "across the river to Cairo to get married." I think maybe it so they could marry so young without permission in a town where they were not known. When I wrote to the Alexander county courthouse, they returned my letter and said that they had searched the marriage records from 1904-1910 and found no record! Now I wonder if maybe they traveled across the river to another county in Illinois. Maybe they actually married in Kentucky. I have no idea at this point.

I always thought that bit of info was a fact and I just wanted the actual document for my files. Now I'm very confused!

In 1910, I can't find them at all. I have searched everywhere! He is listed on the WWI Draft cards as being a railroad worker in Paducah. I know both sets of parents are buried in Paducah, so I am assuming that Bessie was correct when she said they met in Paducah and lived there after the marriage.

Thanks again for responding!
