Hi, I am desperately seeking an ancestor but I have very little information. I would appreciate any help that anyone could offer. A watch maker by the name of Hayden (spelling may be different) lived in Illinois, probably southern Illinois. This family adopted a child. We assume the child is a girl because the last name changes to Wall to moves to Arkansas although the name change could have happened in the next generation. Wall is my grandmother’s name but she did not like to share family information so we are not sure if this adopted child was her parent or her grandparent so it could have been anytime between 1835 to 1895. The significant thing is that this adopted child was Native American. The child may have been orphaned during relocation but that is nothing more then family guesswork. Any help is gratefully accepted. Thank you, Mary Karr mary.d.k@sbcglobal.net |
