In a history of Huron and Erie Counties, Ohio I find that, among the early settlers of Greenwich Twp., Huron Co are three brothers. Mordecai Jenney of New Bedford, MA originally, but for some time a resident of Cayuga Co., NY arrived in 1818,
brother Obadiah came next and then removed to Norwalk, OH. John Jenney came later, about 1823, and settled lot 42 section 1. There is, in the next generation, a man refered to as John
Jenney, Jr. What I would like to learn is whether John, Jr.
is the son of John, Sr. Experience has taught me that is not
a safe assumption as we might now expect it to be. Jr. and Sr.
as used then just indicated "younger" and "older" with no
implication regarding relationship. Is anyone researching
this Jenney line?
