Clearly, you and Douglas have been at this longer than I have. I have only a tidbit to offer and can not vouch for it's reliability. Paul Lange at www.langeonline.com discusses the Jacobus information at length and may offer something useful. I may also be descended from this line. My interest lies in the given name, Alexander. My grandfather was Alexander Kenney, b. 1880 in Dansville, NY. His grandfather was Alexander Kenney, b. 1811 in NY, who lived in Sparta, NY and died in 1879. This Alexander's death record states that his father was born in Connecticut. There was another Alexander Kenney (b. about 1790) who lived in Perry, Genessee Co. NY and seems to have died after 1830 but before 1840. The Census records of that time didn't indicate place of birth, so I do not know for sure that this Alexander is his father. If so, he would have been born in Connecticut.I hope to find evidence that connects my New York Alexander Kenney's with the Alexander Keeney's from Connecticut. Have you come across any references to a migration from Connecticut to New York State?
