I am researching the Stowers family and have found some discrepancies in the information online on both Ancestry/Genealogy.com and on Rootsweb. William Keyser, son of William and Keziah (Snead) Keyser was born 1785 and married Rebecca Stowers in 1827. Rebecca was born Rebecca Lindsay, daughter of Larkin Lindsay. She married first Winston Stowers of Staunton, Augusta Co., VA. They were married Nov 23, 1819 in Orange Co., VA. They appear in the 1820 census in Staunton. Winston died soon after they married and she went to live with her father. Then married William Keyser in Bath Co., VA Feb 9 1827. I have not been able to prove Winston's parentage but think he was the son of Adam Stowers...or his younger brother...of Augusta Co., VA William and Rebecca lived their entire lives in Bath County and he was age 95 when he died in May 1880 in Cedar Creek Twp.
