Unfortunately, my George W. Kiefer doesn't seem to match up to yours. Mine was born in 1844 in Allegheny City to Karl Ferdinand Kiefer and Maria Elisabetha Lappe Kiefer. I don't know who he married. I'm trying to find any information out about him that I can. Interestingly, in a document prepared by his father (a letter) it mentions that he was originally named George John Kiefer. However, documents later in his life list his name of George W. Kiefer. I'm at a loss as to where the W. comes in from when his birth name was George John Kiefer.

I'm not that familiar with Pennsylvania, but some members of the Kiefer family apparently moved to the Derry, Pennsylvania area and others may have moved to or married individuals from the Scranton, PA area.

If I come up with anything else, I'll let you know. I do know that one Kiefer (John Michael Kiefer) married a woman byt he name of Mary Louise BROWN Herron. She was born 8/11/1883 in Pennsylvania and her parents were: Sarah BROWN and Thomas Herron. I don't know if Sarah BROWN fits into your family or not.
