Good day. We are looking for info on the RIGGS' line of our family.

We do not know who Grant Eugene RIGGS' father was, nor his birth place. Neither do we know what his mother's given and maiden name was.

Grant was born on July 28, 1869 and died on August 1, 1948 in Minneapolis, Ottawa County, KS. He was a jeweler and carpenter. We know that he came to Ottawa County, KS, from somewhere in IN. He settled in Ada and, after establishing the store he opened there, Grant sent for his mother and younger brother, Fred.

They bought a separate home not far from Grant's. Fred owned land and was involved in the stock market. He lost a great deal of it in the crash of '29. Fred never married and, after the death of their mother, he lived with Grant and his wife.

On October 13, 1901, Grant married Lucy Margaret HOGARTY.

Lucy was born on January 27, 1885 in Ada and died on November 23, 1951 in Minneapolis, Ottawa County, KS. Grant and Lucy moved to Minneapolis in the early 1940s.

Grant and Lucy had 3 daughters:
- Thelma Faye;
- Neva Jean Marinda; and
- Ida Mellie ("Tobe").

Lucy was the daughter of Marinda M. McLAUGHLIN and "Dick" Richard Mentor HOGARTY. Lucy had 3 older siblings:
- John William (1867-1907)
- Ida Viola (1870-1941); and
- Fannie Elizabeth (1879-1955).

Ida Viola HOGARTY married Asa Harrington CRABS on 10-5-1884. They had 7 known children:
- Richard Abraham;
- Vivian Helen;
- Alda Marinda;
- Grace;
- Clayton Ace;
- Allan Henry; and
- Max Emerson.

John William HOGARTY married Melovia Belle ELLIOTT on 6-8-1886. They had 4 known children:
- Willis Richard Silas;
- Clyde;
- Rolla Andrew; and
- Alice Mildred.

Fannie Elizabeth HOGARTY married Marcus Arnt BUCK on 11-17-1895. They had at least 3 known children:
- ??.. (the daughter's name is currently unknown);
- Jessie; and
- Guy Emerson.

If any of these names seem familiar, we would appreciate hearing from you. We would also be happy to share info in return.

Happy hunting!
Thanks in advance!!
