Claudie, The following is a link describing Marie Touchet, the mistress of Charles IX. You may be related. http://www.worldwideschool.org/library/books/lit/debalzac/CatherinedeMedici/chap19.html Also, a french version in Wixpedia: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Touchet Also of interest, I discovered the town of Notre Dame du Touchet. The following is a link on Wixpedia (in French) http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notre-Dame-du-Touchet Basically, it say that the name of the town was Touchet up until the 20th century when they added the Notre Dame onto it. Touchet came from the ancient French word "Tocha" meaning a forest(or woods) near a dwelling. There is an old Touchet Castle. Phil LaBerge The following is a link showing you where Notre Dame du Touchet is located. http://maps.msn.com/(qgvpc155hg0lpd45sb1vwl55)/directions.aspx?&StartName=Colomby-sur-Thaon%2c+Calvados%2c+Lower+Normandy%2c+France&StartLocation=49.26542%2c-0.40947&EndName=Notre-Dame-du-Touchet%2c+Manche%2c+Lower+Normandy%2c+France&EndLocation=48.58165%2c-0.95666&DataSetLangID=EUR&RouteType=Quickest&RouteUnit=Miles |
