Hi Ian, Re your post regarding Lillington as a Christian name. The family you mentioned used Lillington this way after the marriage of George Hanns (bap 1718) to Hannah Lillington (bap 1717) They lived at Milton Abbot, Devon. One of their sons, Lillington Hanns married Grace Rowe Blanchford and they in turn had a son George Lillington Hanns. There were several George Lillington Hanns' born down the generations and the name was used for nearly 300 years. An uncle of mine, John Lillington Hanns passed away in Melbourne Australia in February 2005. I do have mention of the Minhinnicks and the intermarriage of the Rowe family in my records and would be happy to share information. I realise your post was a few years ago, hope this finds you Ian. |
