August Maag was b 13 aug 1838 in Eschenbach Germany; married the 2nd time to Matilda Henkelmann in Baltimore Md. August was a prominent business man in Baltimore during his life. His family was frequently in the social pages and I have found much information about them through searching the Henkelmann line. August was married twice; his first wife is unknown, but one of his sons from that marriage, BARTHOLOMEW M MAAG (b about 1872 in Maryland, d unknown) was a well-known missionary who worked for 15 years in the Cordova area / Andes Mountains of Argentina. From his first marriage, there were issue Joseph Daniel who d 20 dec 1928 in Raleigh NC; George L M b jun 1867 in Baltimore, and Bartholomew. From his 2nd marriage to Matilda Henkelmann, we have Catherine (m Francis Leon Piet; Mary (unmarried); Rosa (who became Sister mary Gabriel); Margaret (unmarried, nurse in WWI); Walburg (m William Nolan and had issue William), and loved to travel; Amelia (unmarried); and Frederick Christopher (also unmarried). I have many stories and stuff I have pulled from the Baltimore Sun and would love to share them with whomever has their history. ak_susan@yahoo.com |
