My line of McGonigals goes back to Cross Creek, Washington County, PA where he was born in June of 1801. When he was about 10 they moved to Jefferson County, Ohio. Samuel married Elizabeth (Betsy) Bronson in Chardon, Geauga County, Ohio in 1826. Their son James Bronson McGonigal moved to Kansas. James' great-grandfather was in the Revolutionary War.
