My Mary McKay was born in Dornoch, Scotland in about 1849 as she was 6 when she came over with her parents, William McKay and Jane Gray and many siblings. I saw from someone elses genealogy work that her middle name was Charlotte and that she married a McLeod. So I don't think they are the same Mary. One of Mary's brother, Andrew McKay and his wife Mary Jane Walt had a daughter Mary in 1879-1880 born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan area, possibly Dafter, Mi. I don't know what happened to her.
