My great grandparents were John Morrissey and Johanna Sullivan, married on May 24, 1859 in Croom. Marriage witnesses were Patrick Nealon and Mary Sullivan.

John Morrissey is believed to have been born in 1807 in the townland of Anhid, an area south of a small town called Croom in County Limerick, Ireland. He died in 1900 in the Townland of Anhid, Croom at the age of 93 of influenza. Johanna is believed to have been born in 1836, possible in Toryhill. Their exact birthdates are unknown but the years of their births were determined from their death certificates. Nothing is known for certain about John or Johanna's parents or siblings. However, it is suspected that the baptismal sponsors of John and Johanna's children are most likely siblings.

John and Johanna had five children all born in Ireland:

John (b. 2/13/1860; d.unknown)
Baptismal sponsors: William Sullivan, Johanna Morrissey

Mary Margaret (b. 3/13/1862 d.10/21/1931 in Brooklyn) Married to James Morrissey
Baptismal Sponsors: James Sullivan and Maria Carroll

Patrick (b. 2/17/1865 d. 1/29/31 in New York)
Baptismal Sponsors: William Cronin, Johanna Gorman

Johanna (b. 6/18/68 d. unknown) Married to Christopher Marshall
Baptismal sponsors: Tom Sullivan, Mary Sullivan

James John (b. 5/27/1871 d. 9/13/1948 in Brooklyn) Married to Mary O'Rourke
Baptismal Sponsors: John Morrissey, Mary Flaherty

James John Morrissey was my grandfather.

I'm not sure if there is any connection with your Morrisseys but feel free to reply to me at
