I am trying to find records on my great-grandmother, who according to family legend, met my great-grandfather on the boat from Hungary. I thought that this would be an easy task, but it has been difficult. I have search passenger records with little luck. One of the biggest problems is the name,Frances. Apparently, there are many versions of this name. Does anyone know common versions of this name? Another problem is that I am not sure where she ended up first before settling in Cleveland. The censuses have no record of her before 1920 and by then she was married to my great-grandfather. The census said that she immigrated in 1900. Any tips how to find someone with little to no information? She was from somewhere near Vesprem. Thank you! Wendy
