Jeff, I ran your names through some of the NZ databases I have. I'm not sure what any of this means but here's what I got: 1. No marriage for a Martha Bassett to Thomas Atkinson. Men named Thomas Rose Atkinson (possibly son/grandson?) did marry the following women: a. 1884 to Clara Jane Toop (probably the Thomas Rose Atkinson born 1860). b. 1932 to Ellen Elizabeth Baker 2. Burials & Deaths: Thomas Atkinson Death: 1880 39Y (giving a birth year of abt 1841), burial Southern Cem, Dunedin (No probate found). I include him because his birth year is the closet of all the Thomas Atkinson's I searched. 1929/959 Atkinson Thomas Rose 60 Years old (giving birth year circ 1869). Buried Park Island Cemetery, Napier, Probate filed at Wellington Court. States he was a 'French Polisher'. 1952/27310 Atkinson Thomas Rose 64Y (born circa 1888), buried Rotorua. Probate filed Hamilton Court. States he was a Motor Driver.
