Can't see a connection but thought I would reply as I have an OVENS connection [there are not too many of us]. I am presently looking in Fermanagh or Devenish, Ireland. William OVENS was in Sydney Australia by 1861 as he was married there. I have not been able to find William OVENS in the shipping index. According to his marriage cert I know his parents were John OVENS and Sarah GARDINER and that William OVENS was born c1838 in Ireland. The witnesses to Williams marriage in Sydney were William CRABB (his father-in-law) and Sarah SMITH (don't know her connection) Researching: OVENS - GARDINER - LYNCH - BYRNE - GORMAN - MCCLAFFERTY from Ireland
