I have an article from Derbyshire Miscellany Vol 8 Part1 (1977) entitled "The Early Derbyshire Quakers and their Emigration to America" by Adrian Henstock. Fox was very active in establishing Quakerism in Derbyshire during the Commonwealth, apparently it's in Derbyshire that the term Quaker originated. The "Book of Sufferings of Friends in Derbyshire" details an incident in Ashbourne in 1663 where Edward Pegg, as magistrate, issued a warrant to have several friends arrested, some were later excommunicated (Brawling Quakers - cool!). I've cheked the original manuscript and cannot find a ref to Daniel in it. Although around this time there was a local quaker migration to Pennsylvania where an "East Midland Colony" was established, "supported by the Counties of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. The area they settled becam appropriately as Upper Darby, where records survive of "The First Adventurers from Old England" who settled there between 1682 and 1691" I checked the First Adventurers List and didn't find Daniel Pegge, did he come over earlier? did he settle in the area known as Upper Darby? Where is the area of Upper Darby? why do people think he came from Lincolnshire or Cambridgeshire? - anybody got any leads. I've trawled all the Quaker records deposited at the Nottinghamshire County Record Office but haven't managed to get up to the Derbyshire collection in Matlock yet. Has anyone else checked out the Matlock collection?
