I am currently researching the family tree / history. So far I have managed to get back to John Poyl born sometime in the 1680's - he married Elizabeth and they had a son called Samual (Poyle) born around 1700 he married Mary Streeter in 1728 these are my 5th Great Grandfather. Like a lot of people I always assumed there where not too many of us around, boy have I been surprised. I would very much like to hear from other Poiles (Poyles) As a matter of interest there are a couple of villages in England that may be of interest they are: POYLE - just outside Heathrow, HAMPTON-POYLE in Oxfordshire - this is complete with an effigy in the church and a house called POYLE Court.
