I see you posted in 2003; hopefully this will reach you in a timely manner. I remember my dad saying that his father Americanized the Radecke name. Supposedly, it was pronounced RRRRRdeckski; you see I cannot spell that, so it could be possible that Redieske may be the appropriate spelling.

If so, here's a little background on my family, and we may be able to fill in the blanks together.

my father: Kenneth Radecke, b. 1929 Chicago

his parents: Frances Sylvester Radecke (1910 census: Radecky; 1920 census: Radecki) b. 1907 Greenbay, WI married Margaret Bannach of Chicago.

F.S. Radecke's parents: Ignatius Radecky (1910 Census) b. 1873 in Wisconsin d. between 1910-1920, lived in Chicago in 1910, wife was married to a different guy in 1920 census. His parents were born in Poland, according to the census record.

I hope we can help each other. I can't get past this point--no idea if Ignatius had siblings or what his parents' names are. Just that he was born in Wisconsin.

Let me know if you have anything more?
Thanks!
