Hi Pat. All of my Roughton relatives are from Georgia. They have been there at least since the middle of the 18th century. I expect that the Roughtons originally came from England, but have been unable to find their point of entry into the colonies. VA colonial records have entries for Roughton (which is still a fairly common name in Tidewater Virginia and North Carolina), but I haven't been able to link them up with my family.
