I am Charlotte Westhoff, of Washington State, daughter of Ella Rooks b. 7, Apr. 1898 in AL, and related to this line of the MD,GA,Al,CA Ruark/Rooks family. Am so grateful to those of you who seem to have my family well sorted out and shared the information. I'm still searching for some answers. What year they emigrated to the USA, why, what ship, when and why Dennis moved to Georgia, and any stories along the way. The family certainly scattered in many directions. I do have one story my Uncle John Rooks wrote that I am willing to share, if anyone is interested. He makes some statements of Rooks in Virginia in 1638, that Dennis lived to be 103 years old, Civil War story, etc. Charlotte.... Always searching for Rooks/Moon and Colburn/Schermerhorn. Thanks.
