Jimmy,
Do you know who your John's children and/or siblings were? I have some records which give Tacy Brewer Clark's parents' names as George and Tempe Brewer. I can find no other information about them.

I have found Tacy listed on the following censuses:
1850 Pickens Co., SC pg 423B, as 35 b NC with James Clarke 39 farmer b NC and five of their children, Frances 12, Noah 9, Pa??y 7 [listed as male, but should be daughter, Polly], Allen 5, George 3, all born NC.

1870 Pickens Co., GA pg 53A PO Jasper, as 54 b SC keeping house, with James 62 farm laborer, b SC and 3 children, James P 18 b SC, Green 16 b GA and Lemuel 14 b GA.

1900 Bartow Co., GA ED 6, Sh 16, as Lacy 84 widow b May 1816 NC, with parents born in NC, as the mother of George Clarke.

Her tombstone inscription at the Greeley-Salacoa Cemetery, Cherokee Co., GA, reads "Tacy Clark - Aug 23 - died 1902".

Her husband, James was listed on pg 190 of the 1862 Salt list for Pickens Co., GA, next after a W. Brewer [only Brewer on the list]

[According to the ages and birthplaces of Jamaes and Tacy's children on the 1870 census, James and his family should have been found in GA in 1860 but I have not found them. Neither have I found them on the 1880 census. James died 7 Sep 1886.]

Thanks,
Melba
