Looking for relatives of Captain Henry Schippers, born January 1, 1840, Province of Zeeland, The Netherlands; died February 8, 1913, Lake Forest, Michigan. He married Mary ? about 1865 in Grand Haven, Michigan. Mary was born in 1842. Death unknown, buried in Grand Haven, Michigan. Henry Schippers came to America at age 16, arriving in 1865. He settled in Grand Haven, Michigan at once where a brother Kryn Schippers (may be short for Quirinus) and a sister of Captain Harry Smith were already living. Captain Henry Schippers sailed the Great Lakes with Captains William R. Loutit, Charles T. Pagelsen, Galen Eastman, Jacob Nemire, John Van Huisen, Captain Boomsluiter, John DeYoung, John Schippers, and Dick LeFebre. Captain Henry's sons were Andrew Schippers, 1865-1955.
