Thank you for replying on "Schmidtke from Ost Preussen" on March 19, 1999. I am almost 100% positive, that Charles Schmidtke is related to my great-grand father. He was either a brother or a cousin. My great-grand father, Gustav Adolf Schmidtke, was son of August Schmidtke and Johanne Schmidtke (born Holz). August was a farmer. Gustav moved from Ost Preussen to North Slesvig about 1913 (today N.S. is Danish). What became of his brothers and cousins, I donīt know.
