I was checking to see if you have come across a Campbell Uriah Sherrell who married 1) Mary Saddler on May 5, 1864 in Coffee County and then married 2) Nancy Simpson August 28, 1865 in Cannon County, Tn. I made copies of these while I was in each county. He interchanged his name with each marriage. To Mary he went by Cambell U. Sherrill and with Nancy it was Uriah Sherrel. I went to these counties last week and pulled the original records of what I could find. In the 1850 Census of Rutherford and Warren County book of 1850 census at the Coffee County, Manchester library, I found him with his mother Elizabeth Shirrill 33, Martha 13, John 10, Campbell 7, Mary 4 and Joseph 2, T T, Cf-643-92. There was no father listed. Carroll Shirrell lived next door and George Shirrill and Jacob Shirrill lived at Cf-162-24 and Cf-163-25. I have been unable to find who his father is. My husband and I spent all last week searching in the different counties but I ran out of time and we had to come back to work. Ha.
I found my great grandfathers marriage license with his 2nd wife in Simpson Co., Ky. There is shows that his father was Campbell Sherrell and Nancy Simpson as his mother. This is what sent me on my search for Campbell and Nancy. My ggrandfather's name was John Peter Shirrell died in 1956 and found that Nancy Simpson Father was Peter Simpson.
Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.
