Greetings! I do not have an answer to the question you posted, but I am intrigued by your search. I am from Iroquois County, IL, and my grandmother's maiden name was Sites. Her name was Myrtle Sites, and she died in 1992 (?). I would love to know if you discovered a connection. Thanks!
