I have that he was born in Alabama, he served in the Confederate Army for Miss. discharged Feb. 1864 he was Calvary. Co. B 2nd? Miss, Golston's Battalion or Ashcraft's Miss. Cavalry. Sometimes listed as S. N. Snipes. One form I have shows Sion Manterop "Monty" Snipes born in 1847 in Al. Married Martha A. Miller born in 1845 in MS. their child was Lawrence Monroe Snipes born Dec. 21, 1881 in MS. Sion would be my Great Great grandfather. Sion M Snipes parents were Sion Snipes born Mar. 16 1802 in Johnston Co, NC, married Francis A. born 1819 in SC. Sion M. had a brother maned Matthew. I am also looking for Warner D. Farr.
