Hello kindred researchers, can anyone help with the following...
Joseph Adam SPIKER, b. 1824, and wife Sarah "Sallie" HERSHBERGER, b. 1826 of Allegany/Garrett County Maryland is the family lineage with which I am in need of some help.
Joseph and Sarah had a daughter Sarah Ann SPIKER, b. 1858, Allegany/Garrett County Maryland. Sarah (the daughter) married Zaccheus Clark GIBSON, b. 1847, Monongalia/Preston County Virginia/West Virginia. This couple were married 20 Apr 1893, Garrett County Maryland. Zaccheus and Sarah were age 45 and 34 respectively at the time of their marriage. Zaccheus had previously been married to Elizabeth Catherine "Eliza" WONDERLY, who died 1889.
It is believed Sarah was also married prior to her marriage to Zaccheus. Sarah is known to have had a son, Charles Blaine SPIKER, b. 1884, Garrett County Maryland.
(1) Who was Sarah's first husband and/or father of Charles? Was he a SPIKER cousin? Was Charles given his mother's maiden name as she may have been unmarried at the time?
(2) Were there other children of this first marriage/relationship born to Sarah?
Any information to clarify the above is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
