Message #4 The Battle of New Bern (North Carolina) was fought on 14 March 1962 near New Bern NC. My advantage - I'm from Newbern TN and recognized the possibility of the confusion over the two locations. Trivia - Newbern TN was named for New Bern NC, which was named for Bern Switzerland.
