My second great grandmother was Mary Catherine "Mollie" Shelton, b. 1857 in Mississippi and d. 1911 in Tipton County, TN. She named her son (my great grandfather) Varda Clinton Walton in 1897. I think her father was Peter H. Shelton and her mother may have been named Elvira. There are so many similar names in the families (Priscilla, Varda, and Willis for instance), that Mary Catherine Shelton has to be tied in with Vardy Shelton who was in Tippah County, MS in 1860. Does anyone know how my line fits into the greater Shelton lineage? Jeff Gatlin Memphis, TN
