I am stuck at E. Spencer Gatlin in Tippah County, MS. Born abt 1822 in NC. Married to Elizabeth D. Lowery (based on her son's death certificate) who was born in TN. Children and their birth years, all born in Tippah Co., MS: > Mary J., 1846 > Joseph William, 1848 > Sarah Fannie, c. 1852 > Isaiah W., c. 1855 > Edward Leon, 1858 > Martha P., 1861 > Bettie, 1863 > Robert W., 1868 The boys migrated to Tipton Co., Tn in the late 1880s and early 1990s. There were already Gatlins there by that time. The names Edward, George, and Bettie occur fairly frequently among Tipton County Gatlins. I come from his son Edward Leon who married Emma Docia Rowland. Does anyone know from whom my E. Spencer, sometimes seen in census records as just E.S., is descended from? Jeff Gatlin Memphis, TN
