Hi Ann, I had a response almost completed and it suddenly disappeared. I must have hit a wrong key. If it gets posted, okay. But we will do another one. I do know quite a bit about this family since Alexander married into my ancestral line. Alexander was the son of Johann George Walk (1787-1870) and Elizabeth Billings (1787-?). In 1837 he married Jerusha Dare Smith (1821-1901) who was the daughter of Leonard Smith, Jr. (1784-1845) and Susannah Holmes (1788-1844). After Alexander's death, Jerusha married again, this time to a McFadden on 27 Nov. 1873. The oldest daughter of Alexander and Jerusha was Susannah (also known as Susan Ann) who was born 2 Nov 1838. I do not know her death date. She married Charles M. Archer (1836-1878). Their children were William T. (1856-1931) Leamon B. (1859-1925) Walter Andrew (1869-1941) Benjamin M. (1871-?) Idyl Sherrod (1875-?) Other children of Alexander and Jerusha were: Thomas Benton (1840-1912) Sarah M. (1842-1866) Augustus Washington (1844-1909) Lucy Ann (1846-1866) Ranson (1848-1860) Nancy Alice (1849-1871) George Alexander (1850-1932) Albert John (1855-1912) Oscar Lafayette (1859-1873) Frances M. (1860-?) Edmund Anderson (1862-1898) Jefferson Davis (1863-1892) Bless her heart, she probably had to marry McFadden to help raise some of those kids! Have a good day, Wayne Smith
