Not related, just did some lookups for you in some Wilson Co. TN genealogy books I have. NOTE – the spelling of names below are exactly as they appear in the book cited. I believe that your Nancy Fields Bradberry was the daughter of David Fields 1. From the book, “People of Wilson Co. TN, 1800-1899”, by Thomas Partlow Chapter titled, “Quarterly Court Minutes, 1826-1828” June Court Term 1827 A Thomas Bradley sued the HEIRS of David Fields who are listed as: Richard, David, Catherine, Redden Fields Charles and Nancy BRADBERRY Julias and Parthena SANDERS Phillip and Mary KOONCE John and Rachel Fields 2. From the book, “Index to Wilson Co. TN WILLS, 1802-1861” David Fields had records in Probate in 1825 3. You can order copies of David Fields Will and copies of the pages of the June 1827 Court Case from the Wilson Co. TN Archives in Lebanon for a small fee. 4. From the book, “Marriages of Wilson Co. TN, 1802-1850 The BONDSMAN for the marriage of Charles Bradberry and Nancy Fields was Henry ROBERTSON Regarding the Heirs of David Fields named in the 1827 lawsuit: As they are mentioned in this “Marriage” book Re DAVID FIELDS, JOHN FIELDS, MARY FIELDS, PHILLIP KOONCE, and REDDING/REDDEN FIELDS : David Fields was the Bondsman for the marriage of David Walls and ???? Bugg January 11, 1806 David Fields was the bondsman for the marriage of John FIELDS and Elizabeth Taylor Oct 7, 1816 David Fields married Rhody Ferrington April 20, 1817 with Ivey Gibson as bondsman (a second marriage????) David Fields was the bondsman for the marriage of PHILLIP KOONCE and POLLY (MARY) FIELDS on Dec 23, 1817 David Fields was the bondsman for the marriage of REDDING FIELDS and Polly Ferrington Dec 31, 1825 Re RICHARD FIELDS, PARTHENA FIELDS, JULIUS SANDERS Richard Fields married Polly Edwards Oct 8, 1815 or 1816 with Howard Edwards as bondsman Richard Fields was the bondsman for the marriage of JULIUS SANDERS TO PENNY (PARTHENA) FIELDS Feb 28, 1815 Re THOMAS BRADLEY Thomas Bradley married Catharine Caplinger March 11, 1821 with William Robinson as bondsman Thomas Bradley married Susan Harpole March 7, 1829 with James McDaniel as bondsman Between 1805 and 1834, Thomas Bradley was the bondsman for more than two dozen Wilson Co. marriages. None of those marriages was for any groom or bride named Bradley or Fields. Regarding the name BRADBERRY / BRADBURY There are very few mentions of that name in my Wilson Co. books, so I’m going to send you all of them in case you can connect them with Charles at some point in the future. 1. There are NO Bradberrys listed in the “Index to Wilson Co. TN Wills, 1802-1861”. 2. The book “People of Wilson Co. TN”, has only one other mention of the name Bradberry: In the Chapter titled, “County Court Minutes, 1802-1807” Thomas Clark charges REUBEN BRADBURY with assault and battery. Found Guilty, Recorded March Term 1805 3. From the book, “Marriages of Wilson Co. TN, 1802-1850” Sarah Bradberry married Grissom Moyers January 23, 1808 with Jesse Cage as bondsman. Dolly Bradberry married Obadiah Woodrum January 29, 1810 with JOHN BRADBERRY as bondsman. James Bradberry was the bondsman for the marriage of James Bates and Sally Stephenson March 14, 1813 James Bradberry was married to Elizabeth Golston Aug 16, 1816 by the Rev. Abner Hill with Elisha Cole as bondsman NOTE – the Rev. Abner Hill was my gggg grandfather. He was a Baptist minister who was associated with the Big Cedar Lick Baptist Church established in Wilson Co. in 1801. This church later changed its name to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Joshua Bradberry married Susan Brinson April 10, 1821 with Joseph Bradley as bondsman Then there is no mention of the name Bradberry for 21 years until: Manerva Bradberry married John B. Woodrum July 13, 1842 Mary E. Bradberry was married to S. A. White July 4, 1844 by Rev. William Barton (also associated with Big Cedar Lick Baptist Church) James Bradberry married Margaret H. Johnson March 7, 1845 Elizabeth Bradberry married Jesse Rowland Feb 27, 1849 Hope some of this helps further your research. Kathleen Hill in CA |
