Searching for any information that would help me in researching my family that came to ILLINOIS sometime before 1860's. SMITH: William C. (C standing for we believe is Crawford) Wife: Mary (HARTMAN)SMITH We have no other information on either of them. This is the only lead we have on them and it is from a Illinois Census dated 1860. William is stated as 37 and is a cabinet maker. Mary is stated as 28 and is Keeping House. The Illinois census of 1870 states them both as 38 from Tennesse.
