Lola, My ggrandfather, Hardy Chambliss, ( Hardy's last name was spelled Chambless on his marrage certificate to his second wife) had a son named John. He was born in 1838, Al. You can find him on the 1850 census of 1850 (he was 12)and on the 1860(he was 22) census of Marion Co, Al. If this is your John, he died in 1891, Winston Co, Al. Will try to e-mail you a copy if you like. Hardy was born in Tenn. John's mother's name unknown, but she was probably born in Tenn also, because John's older bro, James M was born in 1823, Tenn. The age is of a little off, but have found this often true in some cases. Hope this will help. Julia
