Hi,
I just wrote a short email to your cousin Ruth. I'm afraid I have no information connecting Joseph with my branch but feel it's likely that there is a connection. I think I saw a Joseph listed somewhere in the New York City area in the mid-1800s, and I feel that most of the Champenois down there descended from Daniel, who arrived around 1710. My email is jhs11@cornell.edu. I'd be happy to send you what I have on my branch. I've sent it to Ruth also. When I get a chance I'll check some old NYC directories in a library nearby and see if I can reference to Joseph. Talk to you soon.
