This is my first post, and I have not fully read all of the posts so far. But I would like to share what information I have and maybe get some help filling in the blanks.
CHAMPENOIS. aka Shampanore, Shampnor, Shampnois.

Daniel Champenois m. Marguerite ??? - Had 2 children:
1)Mary, 2)*Thomas
Thomas Champenois m. Elizabeth Jurckse - Had 8 children:
1)Maritie, 2)Marguerite, 3)Daniel, 4)Johannis, 5)William, 6)Rachel, 7)Harmen, 8)*Andre(Andrew)
Andre Champenois m. Aeltje Martling - Had 7 children:
1)Elizabeth, 2)Susanna, 3)*Thomas, 4)Samuel Lord, 5)Margaret, 6)??? (daughter b.??? d.??? m. John Armstrong), 7) Andre
Thomas Champenois m. Mercy Sutton - Had 12 children:
1)Margaret, 2)Mary, 3)Samuel, 4)*Andrew Jackson, 5)Thomas Stewart, 6)Elizabeth, 7)Adeline, 8)William, 9)Peter, 10)Silas, 11)George, 12)Emeline (Sometime before 1850, changed his surname to Shampanore)
Andrew Jackson Shampanore m. Sarah Webster - Had 7 children:
1)Mary Elizabeth, 2)*George Webster, 3)James, 4)Lilly Ann, 5)William, 6)Willian Wyckoff, 7)Andrew Lincoln
George Webster Shampanore m. Mary Catherine Reed - Had 4 children:
1)*Andrew Jackson, 2)Frederick Raymond, 3)William Webster, 4)George B.
Andrew Jackson Shampanore m. Leona Elizabeth Young - Had 4 children:
1)Florence Leona, 2)Elizabeth Virginia, 3)Carolyn Young, 4)Norman Andrew
All of the above information I got from a wonderful book written by Leland E. Francois of Riverside CA. I am forever in his debt for reawakening my love of the past, especially genealogy.
Okay now, pay close attention: Carolyn Young Shampanore m. ??? Woodruff (my biological grandparents) - I do not know how many children they had besides my father Andrew Jackson Crate. For some reason he was adopted by his aunt Elizabeth Virginia Shampanore who married Albert W. Crate.
I have no information on either grandparent other than her b.April 20 1910. So any information anyone has would be greatly appreciated.
Also, my ggg-grandmother, Sarah Webster (b. March 7 1827, d.Jan 6 1913) was the daughter of George Webster, and family tradition states that she was related to the Websters of DICTIONARY fame. I need any information here as well.
My gg,ggg-gf Andre Champenois m. Aeltje Marling, daughter of Peter Martling and Catharina Storm. Catharina, one of my ggg,ggg-gm's was the daughter of Hendrick Storm and Maritje van Wert.
I can trace Hendrick, g,ggg,ggg-gf, back 10 more generations to Dederick Storm {gg,ggg,ggg,ggg,ggg,ggg-gf}(b.~1390 at Wyck, Holland. Sometime in the early 1400s he moved to Delft, South Holland.)
