Hello. I am trying to create a better picture of the extended Francis MOORE family of 1600's Cambridge, MA. It appears that this is not a well-reserched family, and that researchers disagree as to how these early MOORE's were related to each other. My "guesstimate" of the family is that (1) The Sarah MOORE who married Edmund GREENLEAF in England and settled in Newbury, MA, was the sister of Francis MOORE. They possibly came over on the same ship in ~1638. (Francis and Catherine MOORE) (2) I am finding out this morning that the Golden MOORE who married the widow, Mrs. Joanna CHAMPNEY, was "possibly" the eldest son of Francis MOORE, and could have had the name, Thomas "Golden" MOORE. And, I just read on-line that Joanna had four CHAMPNEY children when she married "Golden" MOORE: Mary, Sarah, John, Joseph, b1630's?? (3) Anna MOORE b1630 was the only?? daughter of Francis and Catherine MOORE, and she married James KIDDER, and they had 12 children. James and Anna KIDDER and Golden and Joanna MOORE lived across the Billerica Common from each other, arriving shortly after the town was incorporated in 1655. (4) Francis and Catherine MOORE also had sons: Francis, Jr., who kept the family estate in Cambridge, MA, Samuel, whom I've not yet traced, John, who possibly moved to Sudbury, MA. I do not have time to offer more information at the moment, but I can offer the CHAMPNEY paragraph in the "History of Billerica," if anyone is interested. I also just found on-line a paragraph on the CHAMPNEY family from one of the MA history books. Notify Administrator about this message?
