Looking for Peyton ancestors and ran across this:

George Brent and Marianna Peyton(dtr. of Sir John Peyton) son, George Brent imigrated from England to VA about 1650, and died about 1700, married first to Elizabeth Green, daughter of William Green of Bermuda, and niece of Sir William Layton. George Brent married second to Mary, widow of COL. WILLIAM CHANDLER.

I don't have a birthdate for George Brent and Mary (?) Chandler, but it would seem both would have been born ca. 1620-30.

With Mary being a widow, and being probably in her 20's at the time, it would seem this William Chandler would have been born bef. 1620.

Who was Col. William Chandler? And how many Chandlers in this country today are his descendants?
