The early immigrant Chandlers that settled Pennsylvania and Delaware descended from George and Jane Chandler. Try tracing your Chandlers through the censuses. You can do a lot of it free through www.familysearch.org. Try first the regular site and then click on search records at the top of the page then click on pilot for more census information. If you keep seeing Pennsylvania and/or Delaware as their birthplaces going fairly far back, I would think that most likely George and Jane were their immigrant ancestors. They were English and I know of no connection to the Irish Candlers. If you have any male Chandler surnamed relatives, you may be interested in DNA testing. That may answer your question. Go to our webpage www.edmundchandler.com and click DNA results on the left hand side. There is information about many of the early Chandler families including George and Jane as well as DNA info. Good luck and happy hunting! Carol May Co-chairperson of the Edmund Chandler Family Association Notify Administrator about this message?
