Can't understand why you are having problems finding your posted msg to a Pat with a response from me. I'll post your msg to Pat and my response here...... Pat, My GGrandFather was John W. Chandler. My Grandfather was Josephus Claudius Chandler (my mother Margaret Chandler Thompson). I have always thought that John W. was Allen's son (Allen, Temperance, and John W. and wife, Mary Jane "Molly" Mattison are ALL buried at Oak Hill Methodist Ch, near Greenville, SC). I'm sure you knew this. Anyway, My GGF and his brother, Isaac Marion Chandler (or so I was told), married sisters---Molly's sister was Christina (Christy or Chris) Mattison---daughters of Gabriel Marion Mattison and Margaret Richie. Problem is I can't find Isaac in Allen's household in the 1860 census. Do you have ANYTHING on Allen's children, Allen's siblings, or his parents. ANY info appreciated. Please email me directly. Thank you, Nancy (gangemi@bellsouth.net) 1850 CENSUS Not Stated Twp, Greenville Co, SC, p. 416 or 417: Allen Chandler 38 Temperance Chandler 40 William Chandler 17 David Chandler 16 John Chandler 12 Ann Chandler 10 Susan Chandler 8 Jane Chandler 6 Marion Chandler 4 Nancy Chandler 2 Ellen Chandler 1 Definitely say "Marion".
