I'm searching for a Louis CHARBONNEAU possibly born abt 1822 from St-Eustache, D-M, QC who was taken prisoner at the Battle of Saint-Eustache in 1838. Also 2 more CHARBONNEAU and 1 DUBOIS were also prisoners. In 1839-1840, they were taken aboard on a British prison ship called "Canton" and travelled to South Africa via the Cape of Good Hope. Does anyone have the history of this battle and a list of all the prisoners?

Répondez en français si vous préférez, merci.
